My dewier friends…

Since my last post, a fair few of you have asked about using Bio Oil for the face so I thought I would elaborate a little further! My dewier friends (oily makes them sound like car engines) have, like me, been dubious about using this on their face. It seems wrong applying an oil to skin that we are constantly trying to mattify. However take note ladies, it may be the bane of your life now but oilier skin means less wrinkles in the long run. The skin dries up with age (think about your grandma) and wrinkles inevitably appear, thus the longers this process takes the better! Here are some application tips:

  • This is a product purely for night-time, as whilst you’re sleeping the lovely combination of vitamins, lavender, chamomile and rosemary oil can get to work on your skin as it breathes. Our skin is also far more likely to absorb the product and repair itself whilst we sleep (the cell regeneration process is faster at night-time). It would certainly be too much for the day as your morning make-up would glide away and totally contradict ‘The Perfect Base – Part 2′! As well as cleansing my face before application, I also make sure that I cleanse my face the morning after, so all the residue is removed.
  • If your skin is oilier rather than dry, use one small drop and rub between your hands first. Try to avoid massaging too thoroughly onto the ‘oil crime zones’ so you aren’t fuelling the fire.
  • If you are having break-outs, wait a few days for them to calm down before you begin this process.
  • Try exfoliating your face instead of cleansing before you apply the oil. Use a nice grainy exfoliator such as St. Ives Apricot Scrub to get really deep down into the pores. Skin feels silky smooth the next morning!

I hope that helps, leave comments if you have any questions! If you’re interested in skin check out this website: http://www.vivawoman.net/2010/07/01/5-things-to-know-about-your-skin-at-night/
